  • Responsibilities

    • Provide air monitoring, sample collection, and laboratory analyses potentially involving toxic chemicals, microbiologicals (pathogenic and non-pathogenic), toxins, radioactive materials, explosives/pyrotechnics, and other substances.
    • Emphasis on performing set-up setup of field sites, routine preventive maintenance and repairs on environmental sampling and analysis equipment
    • Perform set up, calibration, and operation of environmental sampling and analysis equipment to provide air monitoring and laboratory support to chemical agent operations at fixed site and field site locations
    • Responsible for strict adherence to documented environmental sampling and laboratory analytical procedures, including exceptional safety practices, and highly organized data/records management

    Qualifications

    • Relevant experience working with laboratory methods, techniques, protocols, safety regulations and protective equipment.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills plus proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Office products including Excel, Word and Power Point
    • Must be able to pass a medical physical including a respiratory test for wearing a protective mask
    • Must possess a valid U.S. state issued Driver’s License
    • Must be able to obtain and/or maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance
    • Must be able to travel nationwide up to 50%.

     Preferred Skills

    • Two (2) years of work experience with vapor and environmental sampling and analysis methods for Chemical Warfare Agents (CWAs) or EPA Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste: Physical/Chemical Methods Compendium (SW 846)
    • Experience with equipment similar to chemical detectors such as Flame Ionization Detection, Mass Spectrometers, Flame Photometric Detectors, or Miniature Chemical Agent Monitoring Systems (MINICAMS)
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific or technical discipline
