Education: BA/BS Degree
Experience: 5-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Maintain an active understanding of the scientific activities and research plans within OAR’s Portfolios and conduct liaison activities with appropriate representatives of each Lab, Program and Staff Office.
Support the planning, execution, and follow-up of OAR’s Science Forums.
Support coordination efforts to improve communication between OAR Headquarters and the appropriate Laboratories and Program Offices.
Analyze science programs and the relationship with and impacts of national and NOAA policies on OAR laboratory science policy, planning, and evaluation.
Shall develop white papers, fact sheets, Information Bulletins, educational materials, research reports, briefing papers, and other programmatic guidance on a wide variety of coordination and administration issues associated with OAR’s science portfolios.
Manage email inquiries (to include administering dedicated e-mail accounts), draft initial responses to ad-hoc stakeholder requests for information and analysis, and develop internal and external web content.
Shall draft Portfolio specific briefing materials and educational materials.
Shall provide input to ad hoc stakeholder requests for information and analysis regarding
policy development, status, and assessment.
